Anemometer theory

Two neodymium magnets are situated opposite each other with opposite facing poles in the turning top of the anemometer so that every time one of the magnets passes the hall sensor it toggles it’s state (0V/450mV). See below concept drawing.

Then it can be measured how long it takes for the turning top to take one turn and from that it is possible to calculate how fast the wind is blowing.
